
Phyllostachys edulis "Moso" also called Phyllostachys pubescens and Phyllostachys hetrocycla pubescens. A running bamboo with a distinct groove above pairs of branches at mid-culm nodes. The largest of the hardy bamboos. Shoots in spring. Young culms are covered with a velvety coat of soft hairs. It is one of the most used bamboos in China where it is used for food, timber, paper, plywood, flooring and many other things.
