P. b. 'Geniculata' Slender Crookstem Bamboo culms often show a marked zigzag of lower internodes and have a white powder that can obscure the green when it gets old. Nodes are not prominent. This bamboo is listed by the American Bamboo Society as Slender Crookstem. It was first introduced to the US in 1924 and again in 1943 from Guangdong, China.
